What a great photo, a cool perspective.  I love Aiken!  Would move there if I didn't have "sand in my shoes", but do love to visit.  In fact, I may have to do that this fall...and have dinner at one of your fine restaurants.

Nancy,

Thanks for the comment, and you are right for such a small town we have some great restaurants, in fact, a new Italian place opened about 6 months ago on Laurens Street Downtown, Oliva's- the food is great.

I love Pawleys, though, the horses at Brookgreen take my breath away and I have fond memories of Sea View Inn.  Our Fall Steeplechase Races are at the end of October 23-25 weekend,  in case you needed a reason.  Have a good week!

Awesome picture Jane Page.    The Hitchcock Woods are beautiful and we are fortunate to have them.  Great marketing tie in with the 'hurdles' of moving - - and the hurdles the rider is facing :)

Kara Thanks- every now and again my brain will work.  Our office manager gets photo credit.

I feel so nostalgic just looking at the picture!  When I was a kid my pony club used to have rallies in the woods around Bedford, New York.  There was an organization there called the PLA (Private Lands Association) that maintained all the fences and the riding trails in what was then a very populous area.  It was a great way to preserve the countryside.

Debbie, The Woods are a treasured part of the memories of so many of the children and adults that I know.  I started a scholarship essay contest for people under 21 to write about the Woods and what they mean.  It is rewarding and wonderful to read the essays.  Keep your memories alive and if you are ever down in Aiken, come see our Woods.
